WELCOME TO
THE PETROLEUM ZONE

Hello and welcome to The Petroleum Zone.
My name is Mike A. Martinez, a 21-year-old senior at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  As part of my Physics 102 class requirement, I am bringing you this page to deal with the topic of petroleum use in the United States.

Besides water, petroleum is perhaps the most important liquid in the United States.  It is put to many uses in our modern, mechanized society, in the form of gasoline, oil, tar, etc.  However, the supply of petroleum left is finite, and rapidly dwindling, so I have formed this page to answer the three big questions concerned with the remaining supply of worldwide petroleum:

WHY DO WE NEED PETROLEUM?
HOW MUCH PETROLEUM IS LEFT?
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE RUN OUT OF PETROLEUM?
