Heavier Than Air Flight

(In more eloquent terms, maybe): Flight is pretty fucking cool. You get things that are too heavy to float to behave like they're floating. This is caused by some wacked out magic called the Bernoulli effect.

This basically means that if air is moving through an area at a certain rate, it will create a certain pressure. If the air in an adjacent area is moving at a different rate, it will create a different pressure. If that is the case, a force will be applied from the high pressure area to the low pressure area. In a standard wing, the low pressure is above the wing, since there is a higher airspeed over the top of the ship, and the higher pressure, lower speed below the wing generates a force upward, known as lift.
