What is Really Happening...
- This circuit is harvesting
ambient radiation form radio waves in the
environment. These waves are produced by all of
the electrical appliances around us. (i.e.
laptops, televisions, ect. )
- Using frequency (f) and Planck's
constant (h) we get that the total amount of
energy in a wave is E=hf.
- Any time current is passing
through a wire we build an electrical field.
Because Energy is never created or destroyed,
the energy we lose from this transmission may be
harvested from the air. The antenna on the
circuit is able to tune in to the ambient
radiation and collect it in the circuit's
capacitors.
- The problem with the current
circuit design is that it lacks the ability to
harvest enough of this lost energy to be useful.
A better antenna would increase the circuit's
ability to harvest the ambient radiation.
