Composition
The Composition of Jupiter's upper atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and Helium with small amounts of other compounds such as Ammonia and water.

Jupiter has a number of parallel bands radiating from the equator. The light colored bands are known as zones while the dark bands are called belts.

between the Zones and belts are high speed jets. The Jets flow westward if the transition is from a zone to a belt (starting at the equator). They flow eastward if the transition is from a belt to a zone.

The exact origin of the band structure is unknown at this time.
