In these strange times science policy and funding are very much in flux. Last week I was in Washington DC for an American Physical Society (APS) leadership meeting and had the "oprutunity" to spend a day talking to Senate and congressional offices. I will discuss some of the topics from the meeting; science funding, science education, Open Data (a hot research issue), Open Access ( a hot publication issue) and open communication (a hot policy issue) as well as how APS is addressing science policy questions.
