ABSTRACT

We will have a short journal club discussing the fundemental importance of basic math. Namely, how Gauss and more importantly Gaussian Curvature, governs the "proper" eating of Pizza. Gauss had a remarkable influence on modern mathematics (and Physics) but probably had little idea that his curvature metric would have such a profound impact on our epicurian skill set. We will discuss a little of his background, then Gaussian curvature and measuring it, and finally some very practical uses (eating Pizza).
