How do propellers work?
- Propellers work by using the
rotation of the angled blades to displace the
medium its in.
Every time the blades rotate they push whatever
what in the space before out, and provide thrust
behind the blades.
- The angle of the blade adjust
how fast it will get up to speed and how much
medium the prop will displace, changing how far
foward each rotation will push the prop.
This is refered to
as pitch, the relationship between how fast the prop
gets up to speed and the position changed by each
rotation is inverse, A lower pitch for more shallow
blades will take longer to get up to speed but yield
a higher thrust since more medium is being displaced
per rotation.
