When Stephen Hawking passed, he was survived by three children, Robert, Timothy, and Lucy, as well as two ex-wives, Jane Wilde and Elaine Mason.  In addition to the family that he had built, Hawking was also survived by two younger sisters named Philippa and Mary and while he had an adopted brother he had died in 2003.

Stephen Hawking's first wife was Jane Wilde.  Jane is the mother of hers and Stephen's three children.  Jane and Stephen were married in 1965 and remained so for 30 years when they divorced in 1995.  Jane currently has a PhD in medieval Spanish poetry (achieved in 1981) and now works as an author.  After the divorce she was remarried to Jonathan Jones.

After his divorce with Jane Wilde, Stephen was remarried to Elaine Mason (pictured left).  Elaine was originally Stephen's nurse and caregiver during his marriage with Jane Wilde.  At the time Elaine was married to David Mason and had tow children with him and divorced him after 15 years and then married Stephen in 1995.  Their marriage lasted eleven years, when they divorced in 2006.

Lucy Hawking (pictured left) is Stephen's only daughter.  She used to be a journalist but is now currently a children's book author.  Her books and articles are themed to teach children about science and education as a whole.  One such book, George's Secret Key to the Universe, was published in 2007 and has been published in 43 countries and in 38 different languages.  Lucy studied French and Russian at Oxford and is now vice president of the National Star College which is focused on helping those with disabilities get an education.  She is divorced and has a son in his early 20's at the time this is written.

Timothy Hawking was born in April 1979.  He graduated with a languages degree from both Birmingham and Exeter university and has worked in marketing for Lego.

Robert Hawking is a software engineer for Microsoft in the United States.  He has been a part of many patents produced by Microsoft.  Growing up he helped in taking care of his father.  Currently he is living with his wife and two children in Seattle, Washington.
