What is GPR?

Ground Penetrating Radar is a method of mapping a subsurface using radar. The basic premise is that
a transmitter sends out a signal into the ground and a receiver picks up the signal. A GPR unit is moved
over the desired location where it will pickup reflected signals over that distance and display the
reflected signals on a monitor.

GPR is often used in fields like geology, archaeology and construction, where locating
subsurface objects using a method that causes minimal environmental disturbance is
important.
