In the book Ender’s Game there is a device, called the ansible that can send messages and information instantaneously across any distance. These devices use a fictional subatomic particle called philotic which is indivisible and smaller than a quark. These particles twin, or pair together, these particles can be separated by any distance but will still be linked, similar to quantum entanglement.
Quantum Entanglement happens when two or more particles are created or joined in such away that they’re quantum states can’t be described separately from each other, so by observing one of the particles, you can tell what the other particle is like. Unfortunately this doesn’t work for communication because forcing one of the particles into a particular state causes the quantum entanglement to break.
