The
intake port is quite possibly the most self-explanatory component of the
vacuum. This is where the brush is housed and where dirt is initially picked
up. The brush is connected to an electric motor which causes it to aggressively
rotate against the carpet, stirring up any debris for the suction to pick up.
The Physics of It
The friction of the hairs on the brush cause
debris to be separated from the floor while the charge of the electric current causes
the brush to spin.
