Resonance is when particular objects
vibrate and create their own sound waves after being
struck with a specifically pitched sound wave.
Reverberation is when sound waves are trapped in a space
and start to echo. The Doppler effect can occur when an ambulance or police car screams past a person with the sirens blaring. The sound of the sirens sound more high pitched as the vehicle moves toward the person. As the vehicle moves away from the person, the sirens sound lower pitched. The Doppler effect is when the pitch of a sound an object is making changes depending on the object's motion. The sound waves pile up when the vehicle is moving toward the person and spread out when the vehicle is moving away. |
