Auroras on Earth

The Auroras on Earth are ones that can be seen by humans. There has been many different stories told by humans over the ages to explain these events. There are two different Auroras on Earth one in the north and south pole. The Auroras in the north pole are called the Northern Lights or the Aurora Borealis. Whereas the southern counterpart are the called the Southern Lights or Aurora Australis. Since Earth's atmosphere is mostly Oxygen and Nitrogen then the most common lights produced on Earth are a result of the these two gasses. Oxygen produces greens, yellow, or reds lights. Whereas Nitrogen produces a more rare blue light.
