Basic Rules Of Volleyball
  • The play is started by a player serving from behind the back boundary line of the court over the net to the other team
  • A point is won if the ball touches the ground in bounds on the other side of the net.
  • Each team gets up to three hits to hit the ball over the net onto the opposing side.
  • A player may not hit the ball twice consecutively.
  • The player that served gets to serve again if their team wins the point.

Volleyball is a fun sport that anyone can play professionally or recreationally. Volleyball can be a very versatile sport. Rules could be modified and you do not need a specific amount of people to play the game. It can also be played on almost any surfaces such as grass, mud, or sand.
In these next few slides, I will talk about how every motion in volleyball can be explained by physics. A player might not realize while they are playing, but physics explains why you make certain decisions to get the ball over the net. This is why  knowing physics is important and can improve your game play and give you an advantage over your opponents.
