The physical earth is a dynamic system of constant change. The movement of the earths tectonic plates is the driving force behind this change, driven by a  convecting layer known as the mantle. All aspects of life, from the roads your drove today to the enzymes used to digest your breakfast, are intimately connected with the motion of continents on the surface.  This perpetual shift is the responsible for the diversity of life, culture, climate, and landscapes we find on our planet today.
