Heat Transfer

Convection: heat transfer by mass motion of a fluid such as air or water when the heated fluid is caused to move away from the source of heat, carrying energy with it. Convection above a hot surface occurs because hot air expands, becomes less dense, and rises. Although, by definition, natural convection occurs in a closed space with a heat source such as a wood stove, the Eco-fan works to provide improved convection.  Because of the way the Peltier cooler works, more heat provided by the source causes higher voltage and a more air flow. By applying a steady air flow, the Eco-fan improves convection and helps to eliminate hot and cold spots in the space, thus heating of the space happens faster and more evenly.
