Design

Although simple, the engineering behind the Eco-fan is anything but meaningless. The concepts of specific heat, heat gain and loss are fairly elementary, but for the the Eco-fan, simplicity is the key to its success. The base area of the heat powered fan is maximized for the size of the apparatus to exponentially increase heat absorption from the source. The top portion of the fan has several cooling fins the help to spread the heat and help to keep it much cooler than the base. The fan itself is placed at a height as too maximize heat loss of the cooling fins by convection and not to to do so for the heat absorbing base plate.
