The first know boomerangs were
discovered all throughout Europe! Over 2000
years ago, the famous King Tut had a vast
collection of boomerangs.
what are known as a hunting stick used a long time ago by early hunters as weapons to kill their pray. (1)

The
Picture above shows an early
hunter throwing a hunting
stick. They are
similar to the boomerang,
but they are not designed to
return to the thrower.
They were strictly meant for throwing at animals (Or humans...). The reason the boomerang is bent in an arch shape, is because that actually helps the stick fly much straighter Many people believe that a hunter was trying to fine tune his throwing stick to go faster, straighter and further, but in doing this he actually made it so the stick came back to him.... Which is where the boomerang came from! The boomerang is mostly associated with Australia because the Australian Aborigines are one of the last people to invent the bow and arrow, so they relied heavily on the throwing stick which has now evolved into the "Australian" Boomerang! But as you could guess, they had no idea how this "magical" stick could come back
to the person who just
threw it. (1)
