History of Hot Air Balloons

Hot Air Balloons have been flying since 1783, with the first carrying a rooster, duck and a sheep. Manned flight came November 21st with a 20 minute flight by French brothers Joseph and Etienne Montgolfier. In August 1932 manned flight to the Stratosphere was achieved, followed by a series of altitude records. Innovations and records continued until in 1999 the first around the world flight was accomplished, exceeding all previous distance records.
