Tesla's Legacy Tesla's work laid the foundation for most of modern life. His alternating current system is still in use throughout the globe.  The International Electrotechnical Comission reccomended the "Tesla" to be added to the Giorgy system of measurement in 1954. It was later adopted as an SI unity in 1960. A measurement of magnetic flux density, one Tesla is equivalent to one Weber per square meter.
