Welcome to The Physics of Basic Rock Mechanics!
A webpage made for David Newman's PHYS212 class

This webpage is an introduction to the physical world of rock mechanics, or the physical study of static and dynamic of rock masses. Rock mechanics, along with soil mechanics are applicable topics when studying civil and mining engineering especially. These fields both include a large amount of mechanical analysis to allow for the creation of many types of construction projects.

This site will cover a few of the basic principles of rock mass analysis to give the reader an understanding of how rock masses interact in the earth's crust.
