Classic Technique
Classic
technique consists of 4 different
techniques that are used on different types of
terrains. Two mostly used are
diagonal stride and double poling techniques. Double poling is the fastest
version of classic technique mostly used for
flat terrain skiing. For double poling the
skier only uses the power from the push with
the poles. Motion is straight forward and push
is directly opposite to the direction of
movement. Diagonal stride is the technique
used for skiing uphill. In order to perform
diagonal stride technique the skis need to be
waxed with grip wax to make increase the
friction in the middle part of the ski base,
to be able to kick with the ski in the
opposite direction to the direction of glide
and gain a push from it.
