Pas de Deux
When watching any kind of ballet production from a contemporary
ballet with no plot to a classical story ballet, one of the main
features will be a pas de deux--a dance of two. A pas de
deux normally takes place between the leading male and female
dancer of the ballet, and it is often the most highlighted
piece. Since a pas de deux is between performed with two people,
the dancers are capable of doing steps that they can't do on
their own. A pas de deux is filled with incredible lifts, jumps,
and turns that are all difficult to learn and master.
