The Dark Knight Rises: Prison Escape Fail

Bruce Wayne fails to make the jump but recovers and soon successfully makes the leap.
According to Yuriy Rafailov from hypertextbook, it would take 75 g's to kill an average male.
Let's see how many g's batman had to endure.

 Time batman is in free-fall: approximately 3.00s                                                                        Number of g's = acceleration / force of gravity

 velocity at end of 3.00s = Vo + a*t                                                                                             (588m/s^2) / (9.8m/s^2)

 = 0 + 9.8*3.00                                                                                                                              = 60 g's

= 29.4m/s

Let's assume the stretch in the approximately 1.25" rope causes
 batman's change in velocity to be spread along .05s

 a = (change in velocity) / (change in time)

 a = (29.4m/s - 0m/s) / (.05s)

 = 588m/s^2

Conclusion:
Although batman is not guaranteed death on this fall, he definitely would have suffered some sort of long term injuries
and would not have been able to successfully make the leap the next attempt.
