Cross country skiing is a recreational and competitive sport that often loves and struggles with physics.
Skiers love physics when it means that they can go really fast but expend little energy in the process. However, the struggle with physics begins early on for every skier as unforeseen trees and forces beyond their control slow them down. How do skiers overcome and utilize physics to its utmost potential? We will explore this question and more in the following sections.
