When moving downhill, the force that
propels you forward no longer comes
from your body and instead comes from
gravity. This is accomplished by
transferring your gravitational
potential energy ( the amount of
energy you could build from your mass,
gravity, and how high up you are) to
kinetic energy (the energy of
movement); this happens through the
equation: PE at start=KE
at the end or mgh=(.5)m(v^2).
The previous equation is however
greatly simplified as it does not
account for friction or drag (air
resistance).
