Baseball and the Homerun

Where should the ball hit?
The bat has a certain "sweet spot" that allows the optimal amount of force to be conserved through the follow through of the swing. This allows for a greater force to be put on the ball and therefore a greater chance of hitting a home run. This sweet spot is located between 4.5 and 6.5 inches down from the fat end of the bat.
The swing
The goal of every swing is to hit the ball with enough force and the right angle to send the ball soaring over the fences. The ideal angle is about 25-30 degrees, this gives the ball enough height, and gives the ball an optimal amount of force so you can maximize your swing. Making the assumption that there is no air resistance, the swing's trajectory can be found by using projectile motion. The only two numbers needed to find where the ball is going to land is the initial velocity it leaves the bat with, and the angle at which it is launched.
