Oook & TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy)

This surgery is done for ruptured and frayed anterior cruciate ligaments. Without this surgery Mr. Oook was in great pain and had trouble walking. He unfortunately tore both his rear crutiate ligaments so needed this to be done twice this summer.

The surgeon makes a round cut in the top (plateau) of the tibia. The surgeon rotates this round portion so that the femur comes down on a stable tibia.

Learn more about this surgery, here. Hopefully, we will have time to add more information here about Oook's recovery.
