Around Reykjanes
Peninsula
We left the hotel in Keflavik after an ok nights sleep. The cars
roared down the main street all night, perhaps a summer event!
Blue Lagoon
Power plant.
Warm steaming inviting pools of geothermally warmed water containing
cyano-algae, which gives the blue color.
Eldey Island (center of photo below) off the Reykanes Peninsula
is home to many breeding Gannets!
The Midatlantic Rift, where the European and American Plates
are separating.
The rift is about 10 meters across.
