We left town close to 10AM and headed for Rekjahlid on Lake Myvatn.
A lovely mountain, named Herthubreith, that has a herseys kiss on top made of snow!
Detifoss is the largest waterfall in Europe. After 20+ km on a rough road we arrived at the waterfall. It was worth the drive. We walked the 1.5km to Sellfoss, which was a horseshoe shaped canyon making for yet another spectacular waterfall.
Fragilsfoss spray seen towards the north of the canyon.
The spray of Sellfoss visible from the field from where you approach.
View of Hafragilsfoss from the parking lot above the falls. It is a 2.4 km walk down to the falls.
Awesome mountain Hverbrog (??).
Lava Flow on road between Detifoss turnoff and Myvatn.
Cairns along the road to Myvatn. The rocks looked like they had been squared.
Another Whimbrill.
Namafjall Hverir from afar.
