2007 Complex Systems Summer School We are pleased to announce a first (hopefully) annual Fairbanks Summer School on Complex Systems. This year the summer school will be a relatively brief introduction to characterizing and modeling complex systems in all areas of science and social science. Special emphasis will be on common features in complex systems and the development of techniques aimed at characterizing the dynamics of these systems. The two-day summer school will directly precede our 3rd Dynamics of Complex Systems conference and all summer school students are encouraged to participate in the conference. The school will be a mix of lectures and hands on analysis with the participants looking at real data (attendees are welcome to bring their own data) and simple models. It will be held the 23rd-24th of July in the Natural Sciences Building on the campus of the University of Alaska - Fairbanks. A campus map is shown here. Details about the schedule and lectures will be coming soon. The school will be structured around a series of lectures with some computer lab time. We also plan on having extensive time available for discussion, both formal and informal. We hope that this format will stimulate interdisciplinary learning and collaboration. Important
