General Routing While there are some direct flights into Fairbanks from Seattle (Alaska Airline), Chicago (Alaska Airline) and Minneapolis (Northwest Airline - seasonal) most of the flights come through Anchorage. Therefore one possible routing is to fly to Anchorage and then travel on to Fairbanks. |

Train In the winter, there is weekly train service run by the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Fairbanks. The route cuts through the Alaska range. The Aurora Winter train travels north from Anchorage to Fairbanks each Saturday and south from Fairbanks to Anchorage each Sunday of the winter season. The total trip takes approximately 12 hours and is very scenic if the weather is good. |
