ABSTRACT

Ever since Carl Wiley’s breakthrough observation of the Doppler effect in 1951, applications that take advantage of the technique have flourished, both in the radar field and in analogs throughout the scientific community. I will discuss the salient details of SAR processing from a few different approaches, including the standard Doppler shifting, visualization, and some more exotic conceptualizations. Finally we will survey the advancement of SAR in remote sensing, and the expansion of SAR processing technology into other fields.
