ABSTRACT

I will present a photographic tour of the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) from my participation as a member of Crew 10. The MDRS facility is one of three habitat mockups built and operated by the Mars Society. The Mars Society advocates a manned mission to Mars and has proposed a six person crew for a round trip to Mars. MDRS and its counterparts are intended to help determine design and mission constraints. From October thru April the society rotates a new crew every two weeks through MDRS. I was part of crew ten where we set up a computer controlled telescope and observatory.
