Uses of Greens Functions
Greens Functions are used extensively in electromagnetic theory for both the electric and magnetic fields. A newer application is in quantum field theory, Green functions can be used to describe some of the partial dynamics. It seems unlikely that Green's functions will be supplanted any time soon as they tool for solving systems described by potentials.
