Text Box: Nearly 300 years after Newton first quantified the enigmatic force of gravity, we remain unable to establish a definitive description of the force that is responsible for the existence for the cosmos and for ourselves. As elusive as it is fundamental, it is one of the largest unanswered questions in physics today- a phenomenon that every one of us can readily observe, yet one that defeats even the most brilliant of scientists. It remains one of the most important goals of modern science, for if it is answered, it may provide us with a clearer understanding of the nature of our universe and the processes by which it came into being.
