The existance of the Coriolis force Fc can most easily
be verified by the following experiment:
Imagine a disk which rotates with angular velocity w
(see figure above). A mass m which moves with velocity v
from the center to the rim suffers a side deflection from the action of
the Coriolis force Fc ,
which acts perpendicular to the direction of movement. This force however
is only felt and the deflection is only seen by an observer rotating with
the disk.
