The purpose of this project is to compare the fuel savings per linear wall foot and materials cost per linear wall foot of several wall systems with the goal being to  estimate how much money each system will save per linear wall foot over time in  years. If you want to know the total heating bill savings for your house then use the equation below:

total wall savings = (house perimeter)(#stories)(5,10,20,30, or 40 year savings)

Example: What is the 10 year heating cost savings for a 32'x32' 2 story house in fairbanks with a double 2x4 wall.

total wall savings = (4*32')(2)($13) = $3,328

Note this number only accounts for conduction through the vertical walls without windows because this site is simply meant to compare the cost effectiveness of                                     different wall systems.
