What
We Have Learned?
There are five main solutions that have come from COBE but redefined by
WMAP:
- The Four-Dimensional curvature of space-time is essentially equal
to zero, being positive nor negative, which means the Universe is
ultimately flat.
- The age of the Universe is 13.7 billion years old.
- Ordinary baryonic material takes up a measly amount of 4.4% of
the
entire Universe, "Dark
Matter"
takes up
approximately 23% of the
total Universe, and the rest is of a mysterious "Dark
Energy"
- The first stars "turned on" about 200 million years after the Big
Bang
