Newton built the first reflecting telescope.-----During his
lifetime he was involved in developing calculus, and came up with the
Law of Motion and of Gravitation.-----Newton is elected Fellow of
the Royal Society in 1672.-----One of his most important
works on physics-The Principia, was published in 1687.-----Newton is elected to the
Parliament for the University of Cambridge in 1689.-----Newton became warden of the
Royal Mint in 1696 and later was promoted to Master of the Mint in 1699
which he held until death.
-----Newton became the President of
the Royal Society of London in 1703, which is another position that he
held to his death.-----Newton second most significant
work, Opticks was published in 1704.-----Newton was the first scientist
to be knighted by Queen Anne in 1705.
