The Problem: When the ski goes down the hill it interacts with the snow. Since the snow is not of uniform shape causes a reactive force to be imparted on to the ski. These forces cause the ski to vibrate and loose stability

The Physics: The properties of piezoelectric materials are such that when it is stressed by a mechanical force it will create an electric energy. This electric energy can be used to quickly change the dampening effects of the piezoelectric material to resist vibrations.
