How much Speed can you take?
When a person is subjected to high speed, they
feel the effects of G force. G force is the force
felt by a person due to acceleration, and 1 G
equals the acceleration of gravity, or about
9.8m/s^2. Since on a Ferris Wheel the acceleration
is the centripetal acceleration pointed towards
the center of the circle, one will feel lighter at
the top, and heavier at the bottom. As the Ferris
Wheel speeds up more and more, as the crazy carny
tries to kill the passengers, an average person
will faint at 5 G's, or 5 times the acceleration
of gravity, and if the G force levels are
not reduced, can be proven fatal. Since the
G-Force is not a matter of velocity but of
acceleration, there isn't a specific speed in
which a person will die from if exposed to, but if
the Ferris Wheel were to constantly speed up until
5 times the acceleration of gravity, around
50m/s^2, then it will prove to be fatal.
