what is density?
Rho=M/V (density=Mass/Volume)

As you might remember the trick question you were asked as a child, “what weighs more, a pound of brick or a pound of feathers?” The answer was that since they both weighed a pound they weighed the same, on the other hand the brick was far denser than the feathers, so that pound of feathers would have taken up much more room that the brick. Air has a density and so does water, water just has a lot more of it. This is why it I harder to run though the water at the beach than on the pavement back home. The force that is slowing you down when you are in the water is known as drag.  This force affect when you swim , ride a jet ski or walk though the water and is based upon your shape and the density of the fluid  you move though.

brickvsfeather
While they may weigh the same you can tell that one is obviously more dense than the other..
