Diving headfirst gets you there faster!!




    Diving headfirst into first base is probably the most controversial choice of the two.  Still, many baseball players resort to diving headfirst because they feel like they will have a better chance of getting on base.  "It just feels faster" said Rickey Henderson, a baseball hall of famer, famous for his speed and an all-time stolen base champion. According to David Peters, a Washington University physicist, diving head first is "simple physics: as a runner slides headfirst, the body's center of gravity - and therefore its momentum - is thrust forwards."
