The first frisbee idea came from a
college students throwing a pie tray made by the Frisbie Baking Company
in the early
1900s. Later in 1948 a man named Walter Morrison first tried to sell a
plastic version of the trays which flew farther
and better named the Pluto Platter. Later Rich Kneer of a company
"Wham-o" got the rights to produce the frisbies
and renamed them frisbee. As popularity grew in the product the first
professional models started selling in 1964.
