One
Second After is a fictional book written by William R.
Forstchen. Forstchen has a PhD in History from Purdue and is
specialized in the
history of military technology. He has also written over 40 books.
Excerpts from the Foreword by speaker Newt Ginrich:
"Though this book is a work of fiction, it is also a work of fact,
perhaps
a "future history," that should be thought provoking and, yes, even
terrifying for all of us."
"few have talked about, let alone heard about, the terrible, in fact
overwhelming, threat of EMP, which is shorthand for "electromagnetic
pulse
weapon.""
Ginrich compares this book to that of Orwell’s 1984 which raised
awareness and
maybe even prevented Big Brother from happening, in this case a HEMP
event.
This book looks into life in America after a HEMP event.
