Pink Floyd and Physics
a cosmological coincident or a symbol of social harmony?
~ A PREJOURNEY FOR HARDCORE SKEPTICS ~
Skepticism is expected. One will quickly quesiton how you could take a cold, rational science and compare it to a groovy, psychadelic band from an era that such an aged inquisitor would most likely be ashamed of. But I will indeed show you how Pink Floyd is connected to Physics as well as the psychadelic movement itself. Before we can build this machine, we must demolish a couple of your assumptions. I do hope you wont miss them.

The first (and most natural) assumption that science students make is that there is an inpenitrable barrier that lies between the bounds of Art and Science. Now that we've seen a physicist's view on art, let's take a look at the traces of Physics in Pink Floyd's past. It starts in London where three young architecture students decide to form a band:

.The final step of the prejourney is the most important. Take a deep breath and clear your mind. Accept, if only for a moment, that physics is not reality. Physics is a merely a model of reality. It may be more accurate than other models of reality, such as religion, but it not flawless. Art to is a model of reality, though not strictly of the physical world. It transcends into society and psychology and other nameless things that impact the human experience greatly.
