Einstein's work on the photoelectric effect also gave way to new and very useful technology, such as night vision devices and other image processing technologies. The most common application would be the photoelectric sensor which is in almost every department store.

Although there are not many practical applications for the theory of relativity there are many uses in the scientific world including black holes and planetary motion. But one day, there might be a way to use relativity for time travel.
