After examining how well cats can survive falls from incredible heights, it's no surprise that they have gained the reputation of having nine lives. They certainly survive falls which would mean certain death to humans. They benefit from being small animals with a small amount of mass, but also their ability comes from their flying squirrel (relaxed) posture upon reaching terminal velocity and from their superb inner gyroscope.
