This audio link is an illusion of a series of tones that descend in pitch until they are half of their initial frequency. This is a trick. We think that we should be able to tell when the tone changes in pitch. We cannot perceive the pitch change because there is also a constant change in volume.

This is a wonderful demonstration of how our brain perceives sounds. This shows that both pitch and volume counterpart each other in our brains.
